Live Online Video Group for Teens: Stress Less
Feeling stressed and unsure about the future? Maybe you are feeling isolated and disappointed with school closed. Stress Less: A Video Mindfulness Group is a live online video group for high schoolers to process and learn how to manage anxiety during these uncertain times. This group is an opportunity for teens to learn how to manage emotions, cope with change, and improve overall health and well-being. Using mindfulness and cognitive behavioral techniques, teens are able to take coping skills with them to prevent and help solve future issues while normalizing their experiences and creating healthy habits for life!
Group leader and therapist, Shelby Stone, uses cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness training to help teens:
Reduce stress and regulate emotions (i.e. irritability, sadness, worry)
Address changes in teen’s life such as school closures
Improve social issues (i.e. isolation, peer conflict, communication, loneliness)
Decrease somatic symptoms (headaches, stomaches, etc.)
Increase academic and social engagement
Improve health, well-being, and ability to relax
